Snapshot: Nikki Bateman, computer whiz at MRRL

Nikki Bateman loves helping people establish their first e-mail account, set up a Facebook account that will connect them with family and showing patrons shortcuts for common computer uses.

Bateman, the computer center supervisor and training coordinator, has worked at Missouri River Regional Library for more than 11 years.

While she has worked as a page checking in books, as a clerk helping patrons check out books, worked with inter-library loans and now in the computer service department, she said she now runs updates for all of the library’s public and staff computers. She does the same for the Osage County library in Linn.

Bateman said despite the longevity of the computer lab on the lower level of the Missouri River Regional Library’s downtown Jefferson City location, many patrons still are not aware of the resource.
