City to hold open houses on redistricting plan

The city will hold several open houses for the public to view the latest draft of Jefferson City's ward redistricting plan.

Open houses will be held from noon-2 p.m. Thursday in the Boone-Bancroft room of City Hall, from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers, 4-7 p.m. Jan. 26 in the Boone-Bancroft room of City Hall and noon-2 p.m. Jan. 31 in the Council Chambers.

The city will hold a public hearing on the plan at the regular City Council meeting Feb. 6.

Anyone can submit written comments about the plan in advance to Janice McMillan in the Department of Planning and Protective Services, located in Room 120 of City Hall. To submit a comment in advance, the city advises residents put "Wards" in the subject line. To be included at the Feb. 6 meeting, all comments should be submitted by 5 p.m. Jan. 31.
