It’s the kind of night where anyone can shine.
When the Helias and Jefferson City boys basketball teams renew their rivalry tonight at Fleming Fieldhouse, don’t be surprised if the key to the game is a role player for the winning squad.
“Option 1 and Option 2 are going to be taken away and it’s going to be the team that can adjust and counter things, both offensively and defensively, that will win,” Helias coach Josh Buffington said of the game that’s expected to tip off around 7:45 p.m. today. “Not only have the coaching staffs scouted each other, but the players know each other. It’s a fun rivalry.”
Jefferson City coach Blair Thompson will be coaching for the first time in the crosstown showdown, but he’s very familiar with it thanks to his playing days for the Jays.
