It was a night where it seemed like every shot was in range for the Helias Crusaders. Even those from three-quarters of the court away.
The Crusaders shot an astounding 69 percent from the field, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Deion Hughes from three-quarter court with two defenders on him at the end of the first half, and captured a 62-52 win over the Jefferson City Jays.
“I didn’t realize we shot that well,” Helias coach Josh Buffington said after the Crusaders’ 24-of-35 effort from the field Tuesday night at Fleming Fieldhouse. “I knew we shot it pretty good, but it doesn’t surprise me we shot a high percentage because of the shots we were taking. I can’t remember but one or two poor shots that we took out of our offense.”
