Society hopes to add housing to list of aid for pregnant women

Steve Smith and Mike Hentges, of the St. Raymond’s Society, hold an organization and informational meeting with interested parties about starting a home to shelter pregnant women in need and considering adoption.

Sometimes mothers meet life struggles while they are pregnant.

To encourage those mothers to choose life for their babies, the St. Raymond’s Society has been providing tangible support to the mothers, in the form of home repairs, transportation, education, child care and other needs specific to the individual mother.

Fulfilling a goal from its formation, the local not-for-profit hopes to open a house this spring, which would give shelter to up to six expecting mothers at one time.
