TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Deividas Dulkys scored a career-high 32 points and Michael Snaer added 17 as Florida State stunned No. 3 North Carolina 90-57 on Saturday, handing the Tar Heels their worst loss under coach Roy Williams.
The Seminoles (11-6, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) started the second half on a 30-8 run to take a 66-36 lead en route to handing North Carolina its most lopsided conference loss since a 96-56 defeat against Maryland in 2003.
The loss also snapped North Carolina's nine-game win streak.
Dulkys, whose previous career-high was 22 points, was 12 of 14 from the field and 8 of 10 from 3-point range. He added four steals and a blocked shot. His 8 treys were a Florida State record in ACC play.
Harrison Barnes scored 15 points and Tyler Zeller added 14 for the Tar Heels (15-3, 2-1), who went 4 of 21 from 3-point range.
NO. 1 SYRACUSE 78, PROVIDENCE 55
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Dion Waiters had 12 points, seven coming during a decisive first-half run, Scoop Jardine added 10 points and nine assists, as Syracuse beat undermanned Providence.
The victory for the Orange (19-0, 6-0 Big East) matches the school record for wins to start a season, set in 1999-2000. Syracuse will try to break the mark Monday against winless Pitt.
The win also was the 875th for Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, moving him within one of Adolph Rupp for fourth place all-time in Division I.
Kris Joseph led Syracuse with 13 points, seldom-used Mookie Jones had 10.
Kadeem Batts led Providence (12-7, 1-5) with 13 points and LaDontae Henton had 12.
NO. 2 KENTUCKY 65, TENNESSEE 62
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Darius Miller made two free throws and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added another in the final 20 seconds to help Kentucky hold off Tennessee.
The Wildcats (17-1, 3-0 Southeastern Conference), who trailed by as many as eight points in the second half, took a 62-54 lead with 53 seconds to go. Tennessee's Skylar McBee hit a 3-pointer and after a timeout, Jeronne Maymon fouled Kentucky's Doron Lamb, who missed the front end of a 1-and-1. Cameron Tatum hit a 3 to cut the margin to 62-60 with 28 seconds left.
Anthony Davis scored 18, and Kidd-Gilchrist added 17 points and 12 rebounds for Kentucky.
Tatum led the Vols (8-9, 1-2) with 16 points, and Maymon had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
NO. 4 BAYLOR 106, OKLAHOMA ST. 65
WACO, Texas (AP) - Perry Jones III had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Baylor made a season-high 15 3-pointers to beat Oklahoma State and remain undefeated.
Pierre Jackson scored 18 points and made five 3s for the Bears (17-0, 4-0 Big 12), who extended their school-record winning streak to 17. Freshman Quincy Miller had 21 points.
Baylor came in as one of three undefeated teams in major college basketball, along with No. 1 Syracuse and No. 15 Murray State. A big test comes Monday night against No. 10 Kansas.
Keiton Page, the lone senior, and sophomore Markel Brown had 15 points each for Oklahoma State (9-8, 2-2).
NORTHWESTERN 81, NO. 6 MICHIGAN ST. 74
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) - John Shurna scored 22 points to help Northwestern end Michigan State's win streak at 15.
Drew Crawford added 20 points and Davide Curletti, making his first start of the season, had a season-high 17 for the Wildcats (12-5, 2-3 Big Ten).
Michigan State (15-3, 4-1) lost for the first time since it was beaten by Duke at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 15.
Keith Appling led the Spartans with 17 points and Draymond Green had 14 points and 14 rebounds.
NO. 9 MISSOURI 84, TEXAS 73
COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Phil Pressey had 18 points, including seven straight to get Missouri out of trouble in the second half, and 10 assists to lead the Tigers over Texas.
Ricardo Ratliffe made his first eight shots and had 21 points, and Marcus Denmon had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers (16-1, 3-1 Big 12). Ratliffe, who takes all his shots close to the basket, entered the game leading the nation in shooting at 76.8 percent.
J'Covan Brown had 34 points, including the 1,000th of his career, for Texas (12-5, 2-2). Myck Kabongo had 12 points and 10 assists, and Jonathan Holmes had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Longhorns.
NO. 10 KANSAS 82, IOWA STATE 73
LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) - Tyshawn Taylor scored 22 of his career-high 28 points after halftime, and Kansas used a game-changing second-half run to knock off Iowa State.
Taylor hit three 3-pointers and dished out six assists, leading the Jayhawks (14-3, 4-0 Big 12) on a 17-2 run midway through the second half. It was part of a larger 30-9 burst by the defending conference champions that carried them to their seventh consecutive victory.
Jeff Withey added 13 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocked shots, and Thomas Robinson 11 points and 14 rebounds for his 12th double-double of the season.
Royce White had 18 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Cyclones (12-5, 2-2).
NO. 22 SAN DIEGO ST. 69, NO. 12 UNLV 67
SAN DIEGO (AP) - Jamaal Franklin made an off-balance layup with three-tenths of a second left to give San Diego State over UNLV in a thrilling Mountain West Conference opener.
Franklin, who had 24 points and 10 rebounds, had just come back into the game after landing hard while going for a rebound and then sitting out for a possession. He set a screen for Xavier Thames, then got a pass back at the top of the key and drove to the basket.
On the inbound play, UNLV's Mike Moser stepped over the line and the Aztecs got the ball.
James Rahon added 22 points for SDSU (15-2, 1-0), which won its eighth straight game.
Anthony Marshall tied his career high with 26 points for UNLV (16-3, 0-1).
IOWA 75, NO. 13 MICHIGAN 59
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Matt Gatens scored 19 points and Iowa used balanced offense and stout defense to beat Michigan.
Roy Devyn Marble added 13 points, six rebounds and four assists for Iowa (11-8, 3-3 Big Ten), which snapped an two-game losing streak and picked up its first conference home win.
Iowa went on a 10-0 run in the second half to build a 53-37 lead and it was never close again. The spurt included a 3-pointer by Gatens and a dunk by Melsahn Basabe - both on assists from backup point guard Bryce Cartwright, who finished with five.
Trey Burke led Michigan (14-4, 4-2) with 19 points despite playing through foul trouble.
NO. 14 LOUISVILLE 76, DEPAUL 59
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Russ Smith scored 25 points, Chris Smith added 20 and Louisville beat DePaul despite not having leading scorer Kyle Kuric.
The Cardinals (14-4, 2-3 Big East) had lost four of their previous five games, but avoided their first three-game home losing streak in 11 years by jumping out to an early lead against the Blue Demons and thwarting a late rally.
Kuric, averaging 13 points, sustained a high left ankle sprain in practice earlier this week after the Cardinals had already lost to Providence by 31 points.
Brandon Young scored 14 points for the Blue Demons (10-7, 1-4).
NO. 15 MURRAY ST. 82, TENNESSEE TECH 74
MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - Donte Poole scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead unbeaten Murray State over Tennessee Tech.
Isaiah Canaan added 24 points for the Racers (18-0, 6-0 Ohio Valley Conference), who surpassed the longest win streak in school history. Murray State won 17 in a row in 2009-10.
Kevin Murphy scored 19 points, and Jud Dillard had 19 points and 12 rebounds for Tennessee Tech (11-7, 3-2), which was the preseason favorite to win the conference.
The game was tied 57-all with less than 10 minutes to go before Murray State, picked to finish third in the OVC, began pulling away.
NO. 17 CONNECTICUT 67, NOTRE DAME 53
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Shabazz Napier scored 16 points, and freshman Andre Drummond had 10 points and 13 rebounds to help UConn snap Notre Dame's 29-game home winning streak.
Alex Oriakhi added 12 points for the Huskies (14-3, 4-2 Big East), who played without freshman guard Ryan Boatright who is being held out by Connecticut while the NCAA investigates eligibility matters that predate his enrollment at the school.
Eric Atkins scored 20 points for Notre Dame (11-7, 3-2), who led 25-24 at halftime.
Connecticut used an 18-8 run over the first 10 minutes to take a 42-33 lead. The Irish scored five straight points, but UConn answered with a 12-2 run to thwart the rally.
OKLAHOMA 82, NO. 18 KANSAS ST. 73
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Andrew Fitzgerald scored 21 points to lead four players in double figures and Oklahoma beat K-State for its first Big 12 win under coach Lon Kruger.
Romero Osby and Steven Pledger both had 18 points, and Cameron Clark added 10 for Oklahoma (11-5, 1-3), which shot 55 percent and forced the Wildcats (12-4, 1-3) into 19 turnovers.
Trailing by nine points at halftime, Kansas State fell behind by as many as 18 before cutting the deficit to six with 57 seconds remaining. The Sooners withstood the rally by making four of six free throws over the final 1:21.
Rodney McGruder led Kansas State with 19 points.
NO. 19 FLORIDA 79, SOUTH CAROLINA 65
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Kenny Boynton scored 15 points and hit four of No. 19 Florida's 12 3-pointers in a victory over South Carolina.
The Gators (14-4, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) came in leading the league in 3-pointers with nearly 11 per game. They reached double figures from long range for the 13th time this season but first in SEC play.
Will Yeguete and Bradley Beal had 14 points each, Erik Murphy and Erving Walker 11 apiece, and Mike Rosario added 10 for Florida.
Bruce Ellington had 17 points to lead the Gamecocks (8-9, 0-3).
NO. 20 MISSISSIPPI STATE 56, ALABAMA 52
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Arnett Moultrie had 25 points and 13 rebounds, and Mississippi State rallied in the final minutes to beat Alabama.
Mississippi State (15-3, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) was 0 for 14 from 3-point range until late in the second half, when Dee Bost hit three 3-pointers in the final minutes.
Alabama trailed 33-23 early in the second half but methodically worked its way back into the game. The Crimson Tide took a 46-42 lead with 5:40 left, but then Bost's 3-point barrage began. His last one gave the Bulldogs a 51-48 lead with 1:32 remaining.
JaMychal Green led Alabama (13-4, 2-1) with 14 points.
NO. 21 GONZAGA 62, LOYOLA MARYMOUNT 58
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Elias Harris scored 19 points and Gary Bell added 16 to help Gonzaga beat Loyola Marymount.
Kevin Pangos scored nine points and Robert Sacre had eight for the Bulldogs (14-3, 4-1 West Coast Conference), who pulled away early in the second half to avoid a second straight upset.
Ashley Hamilton had 16 points and LaRon Armstead added 14 for Loyola Marymount (10-8, 3-2), which made just six shots after halftime.
The Bulldogs trailed by two at halftime but opened the second with a 9-0 run. Bell hit a jumper, Sacre and Mike Hart had layups and Pangos hit a 3 for a 41-34 lead.
NO. 25 MARQUETTE 62, PITTSBURGH 57
MILWAUKEE (AP) - Darius Johnson-Odom scored 18 points and Jae Crowder added 15 to help Marquette send Pittsburgh to its sixth straight loss.
The Panthers (11-7, 0-5) remain the only winless team in the Big East, while the Golden Eagles (14-4, 3-2) won their second straight in the conference.
Ashton Gibbs led Pittsburgh with a career-high 29 points and Nasir Robinson added 10. Gibbs hit a 3-pointer from the corner with 54.1 seconds remaining to trim Marquette's lead to 60-57.
Crowder missed a 3-point attempt, but Davante Gardner grabbed the rebound and was fouled with 18.1 seconds left. He hit both free throws for the final margin.
