Pro-life group: ‘The tide is turning’

Hundreds to gather for events surrounding anniversary of abortion ruling

The pro-life movement has seen progress toward its goal in the past 12 months.

And this week, hundreds of Missourians will gather together locally to remember the reason they must continue their mission — the Jan. 22, 1973, U.S. Supreme Court Roe versus Wade decision legalizing abortion.

“I think the tide is turning; I think more and more people identify themselves as pro-life,” said Kathy Forck, 40 Days for Life-Columbia campaign director. “The humanity of the child is more evident. With ultrasound, it can no longer be denied it’s a person.”
