Jays in good shape after opening day at Invitational
Saturday, January 14, 2012
The Jefferson City Jays entered the Capital City Invitational with hopes of winning their second tournament in a row.
After the first day, the Jays have at the very least given themselves a chance on the second day.
“We had some good things happen, we had some good wrestling matches,” Jays head coach Phil Cagle said as the Jays sit in third with 50 points.
Park Hill, the defending tournament champion, leads the tournament with 60.5 points while Lafayette is just ahead of Jefferson City with 50.5. The Jays are coming off their first tournament victory in two years when they won the GFI Duals last Saturday.
