Mid-Missourians weather winter storm

After spending the day off from school at their house, Hope Wise, 9, and Tru Wise, 7, build a snow mountain Thursday during their brief foray outside. The dusting of snow will likely melt quickly as weekend temperatures are expected to reach the 40s.

Thursday’s snowstorm brought Mid-Missouri residents back to the reality we are indeed in the winter season.

But, for a winter storm, the area seemed to fare pretty well.

Area road crews planned to monitor roads Thursday night and Friday morning to make sure slick spots were addressed, especially on the main roads like U.S. 50, 54 and 63.
