Holts Summit considers City Hall expansion

HOLTS SUMMIT - The Board of Aldermen Monday night moved a step closer to expansion of the Holts Summit City Hall building.

The board gave unanimous approval to a resolution authorizing Holts Summit Mayor Lucas Fitzpatrick to enter into negotiations with Porter/Berendzen Architects for professional services relating to development of a City Hall expansion project.

Alderwoman Pamela Murray said the city is considering adding City Hall office space in an area above the storm shelter annex next to City Hall.

Murray said she was concerned that the response to competitive bids came from only one firm. She asked City Administrator Brian Crane if the firm has previous experience in this type of construction. Crane said the firm had completed school annex projects at Higbee, New Bloomfield and St. James along with various other projects.
