One Arrested After JC Pursuit

On Sunday at about 5 p.m., Jefferson City Police responded to a suspicious vehicle call at WalMart, 724 West Stadium Drive, that may have been involved in narcotics.
Officers located the vehicle as it was leaving the lot, and after receiving information the registered owner had a warrant for arrest, attempted to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle failed to stop, and a pursuit began.
The pursuit continued eastbound on Stadium, then on to Highway 54 eastbound towards Holts Summit.
The passenger of the vehicle left the car at the first Holts Summit exit and was taken into custody by pursuing officers.
The vehicular pursuit continued into Holts Summit on to Hayes Street, and the suspect eventually left the vehicle on foot in an attempt to evade pursuing officers.
After a search of the area, officers were able to locate the suspect, a 33 year old male Jefferson City resident.
The suspect was taken into custody for possession with intent to distribute (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.
No name was released pending the filing of formal charges.
No one was hurt during the pursuit.
