Abby Johnson will speak at 20th Vitae dinner

A former Planned Parenthood Employee of the Year, Abby Johnson, will be the guest speaker at the 20th annual Vitae Foundation dinner in Jefferson City.

The event will be a tribute to Don and Ruth Ann Schnieders, who first assembled a group to financially support the vision of Carl Landwehr to use media to save the lives of unborn children.

Vitae's 20-Year Celebration will begin at 6:30 p.m. March 19 at Capitol Plaza Hotel.

The benefit raises funds to promote a culture of life and to help inform women facing unplanned pregnancies about resources available which can assist them in making an informed decision.

Johnson will share her journey from being an exemplary employee for Planned Parenthood to now speaking out against the multi-billion dollar abortion industry and their tactics against women.

She was the director of the fourth largest Planned Parenthood affiliate - in Bryan, Texas - in the country when she experienced a "change of heart" while participating in an abortion procedure.

Her book "unPlanned" was a New York Times bestseller.

Registration for the Vitae celebration will begin Feb. 2. The cost is $75 per person.
