A Jefferson City man is charged with distributing, delivering and selling heroin in connection with an overdose that took place Thursday.
Douglas Smith, 24, was being held Friday afternoon in the Cole County Jail.
At about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jefferson City police officers responded to a possible overdose at Smith’s house, 2110 Anderson Drive.
When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive 31-year-old male Jefferson City resident in the backyard of the home.
Information later was obtained that the subject had purchased heroin from Smith and had lost consciousness after injecting the heroin intravenously, police reported.
