An Eldon man was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison after being found guilty in the death of a Lake of the Ozarks area woman.

On Oct. 31, a Laclede County jury returned a verdict finding Kelly R. Simino, 44, guilty of the murder of Brandi Mathews and recommended a 20-year sentence, which Miller County Circuit Judge Kenneth Hayden handed down.

The sentence against Simino will run consecutive to four other cases against him, and he is being given credit for time served.

Simino had been charged with second-degree murder.

Mathews was Simino's girlfriend and was 23 years old when she was last seen alive in Eldon in late September 2006.
