Mo. teen sentenced for killing in laptop theft

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Kansas City teenager has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing a college student who refused to give up his laptop computer.

Eighteen-year-old Demony Wilson was 16 when he and two other suspects approached 25-year-old Oladipo Oladimeja in the parking lot of a McDonald's the morning of July 13, 2010. The victim, from Nigeria, was an economics student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an employee at the Jackson County Jail.

Oladimeja was in his car, working on his computer, when the robbers approached. He was shot when refused to hand the laptop over.

Wilson was identified as the shooter in the case. He was sentenced Thursday in Jackson County Circuit Court.
