Law firm: Mo. administration commissioner joining

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A law firm says it has hired the head of Missouri’s Office of Administration, who will advise clients on government affairs, energy regulation and public policy.

SNR Denton said Friday that Kelvin Simmons would join its public policy and regulation practice and its government sector. The law firm has more than 60 offices in 43 countries, including in Kansas City and St. Louis.

Simmons announced last month that he would leave state government on Feb. 1.

He led the Office of Administration since Jay Nixon became governor in 2009. Previously, Simmons has been the director of the Department of Economic Development and the chairman of the Public Service Commission that regulates utilities.
