St. Louis man slain 1 hour into new year

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Police in St. Louis say a man out celebrating the arrival of 2012 was shot to death just an hour into the new year.

KMOV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/vy4Obv) 52-year-old Conyea Borroum Willis was shot around 1 a.m. Sunday while walking to his car.

Police say another man approached Willis and demanded money, then fired two shots into the victim's abdomen. Willis died hours later at a hospital.

The investigation continued later Sunday.
