Scheperle will run in Cole County's Western District

Kris Scheperle announced Tuesday he is running for Western District commissioner of Cole County.

"I am running because we need to move our county forward," he said. "I think the time is now for new people to step forward with fresh ideas, common sense, creativity and to be good stewards of the taxpayer dollars."

"I believe my experience of running a small business will serve me well in helping direct our county," Scheperle said. "I own and operate All Seasons Landscaping & Construction Inc. and also operate the yard waste/compost facility for the City of Jefferson. Being a small business owner has taught me that employees are your greatest resource and that sometimes you need to find new and better ways to address issues.

"Cole County has always been an excellent, safe place to raise a family and we need to insure that it stays that way for the next generation," Scheperle added. "I believe we should continue to look at ways to cooperate with all surrounding communities on issues, such as our resident's safety, growth and sharing costs."

Scheperle is married to Jennifer (Buffington) Scheperle, who is a teacher at Trinity Lutheran School. They have four children: Hannah, Charlie, Elly and Adam.

Scheperle is a graduate of Jefferson City High School and Lincoln University. He is a member of the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce, Trinity Lutheran Church, vice president of the Trinity Lutheran PTL, coach for youth sports and Cub Scout Troop 8 den leader.
