All of the six Cole County officeholders whose terms are ending filed for re-election on Tuesday’s first day of filing, and only one faces a challenge so far.
Seeking re-election are County Assessor Chris Estes, Western District Commissioner Chris Wrigley, Eastern District Commissioner Jeff Hoelscher, Sheriff Greg White, Treasurer Eric Peters and Public Administrator Marilyn Schmutzler.
All are Republicans except Schmutzler, a Democrat.
Also filing was Republican Kris Scheperle, who has filed as a challenger to Wrigley for western district commissioner.
