Prom traditionally is one of the highlights of the senior year of high school.
One New Bloomfield senior is hoping her fashion design skills will help her win a dream prom this weekend.
Mckinzie Welschmeyer is one of five finalists in Stephens College's (project) PROM Fashion Show competition. The winner is to be announced during a prom fashion show at 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Stephens College Warehouse Theatre.
The show is produced by Stephens fashion students as part of a 2012 Fashion Creative Express Project competition. Junior and senior high school students throughout the state were asked to design their fantasy prom and submit an essay, a mood board and an original dress design or artwork.
