Your Opinion: Office renovation proposal ignores reality

Dear Editor:

Did you see the article in the Feb. 23 News Tribune. “Koster wants $3M to remodel offices” is the title.

Are they just that ignorant of reality or do they just not get it? Attorney General Chris Koster has asked for $3.2 million “to make the space equivalent to a modest, model-quality law office.” News flash for Koster, it is not a civilian law office, it is a State of Missouri office and the State of Missouri is hard up for bucks! But the money is not real money, he says. The funds will come from a special fund set up to receive money from consumer fraud and unfair merchandising cases. But it’s not real money that could go towards real needs.

Again, are they just that ignorant of the reality that we as every day people deal with, such as not spending more than you make? Or are we just getting the government we deserve.
