Recycling events on tap in Jefferson City

Household hazardous waste will be collected by appointment 9 a.m.-1 p.m. March 14 through Jefferson City's program.

The Citywide Residential Large Bulky Items Pick-up will be the last two full weeks of April.

Residences east of Jefferson Street should have items on the curb by 5 a.m. April 16. And homes west of Jefferson Street should set out items by 5 a.m. April 23.

Eligible items for pick-up include furniture, large or bulky items, televisions, microwaves, and tied bundles of scrap material under four feet in length.

Do not mix the following items with those to picked up: bags or boxes of debris, household trash or garbage not in the blue Allied Waste carts, appliances, tires, yard waste, rocks, bricks, concrete, waste oil, car parts or acid batteries.

Other city recycling events include:

• An e-waste and appliance collection 9 a.m.-1 p.m. April 21 and 28 at Midwest Recycling Center, 1327 Missouri 179 North.

• Pharmaceutical Take-back 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 28 at 401 Monroe St.

• Tire collection 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 15 at Cole County Public Works, 5055 Monticello Rd.
