Lincoln women claim MIAA indoor track title

JOPLIN — The Lincoln women claimed the MIAA Indoor Track and Field team title in competition that concluded Sunday night.

Lincoln insured the title with a victory in the 4x400-meter relay, the final of the 18 events, and totaled 150 points. Central Missouri was second at 140.5, while host Missouri Southern was third at 94.

The Lincoln women’s 4x400 team of Dereka Kelly, Yanique Haye, Tamara Keane and Michelle Cumberbatch won its event in 3:50.18, more than seven seconds ahead of runner-up Missouri Southern.
