COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Police in Columbia are investigating whether two bank robberies in two days were committed by the same man.
Authorities said a man with scruffy facial hair and wearing a hooded jacket held up a branch of Boone County National Bank on Friday afternoon. The man handed a teller a note demanding money and ran out with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police said no weapon was displayed.
A 49-year-old man was taken into custody minutes later.
Police said the suspect and the details of the robbery were similar to those of a holdup Thursday morning at a branch of Landmark Bank, also in Columbia.
Charges against the arrested man were pending Friday evening.
