Hundreds attend vigils for 3-year-old boy

Hundreds of people attended vigils to remember a 3-year-old boy who died after allegedly being abused by his mother's boyfriend.

The boyfriend and mother originally told police Blake Litton of Stover was killed Feb. 16 by a hit-and-run driver.

But 21-year-old Thomas Joseph Presley and 25-year-old Jamie Litton are now charged with second-degree murder. Litton also is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

KSHB-TV reports organizers of Thursday's vigil and march in Stover, Mo., were shocked by the turnout. They quickly ran out of 200 child abuse awareness bracelets.

All proceeds from the sales will go toward funeral expenses and medical bills for Blake, who would have turned 4 next week.

On Friday, another community vigil was held in Sweet Springs, Mo., the hometown of Blake's father. (See video report below.)
