Woman falls asleep, crashes into restaurant

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A woman is expected to face charges after falling asleep at the wheel while waiting for her food at a McDonald’s in St. Louis County, then crashing into a neighboring restaurant.

KMOV-TV (http://bit.ly/zfMyO6 ) reports that the accident happened about 4:20 a.m. Wednesday in Ferguson. Police say the woman was in the drive-thru lane when she fell asleep, hit the accelerator and sped into the roadway. The car crossed four lanes of traffic and hopped a curb before slamming into the front of another restaurant.

The driver was not seriously hurt. Police say she had outstanding warrants and was arrested at the scene.

A large window at the restaurant was shattered and some of the brick fagade was damaged.

Ahem, I think it's "facade". I hope this criminal sues McDonald's for not having anti-fatigue alarms on the building that could have prevented her from this avoidable criminal action. Furthermore, she should sue her health insurance company (we all know criminals carry insurance) for not providing anti-fatigue medication that could have also prevented this travesty. AND, she should sue based on women's health rights because it's obvious that her insurance and McDonald's hates women since these preventative measures were not in place.

She should have been texting on her cell phone if she was drowsy. That is a great way to stay awake behind the wheel.
