MOSIRA foes hail ruling against law

The group that challenged the MOSIRA law is happy with Cole County Circuit Judge Dan Green’s ruling on Monday that the law is unconstitutional.

But the statewide coalition supporting the “Missouri Science and Innovation Reinvestment Act,” which is intended to help Missouri attract technology and life sciences companies, said it “remains resolved to passing and implementing MOSIRA.”

Green’s 11-page ruling came in a lawsuit filed by the Missouri Roundtable for Life and its president and chief spokesman, Fred Sauer; by Missouri Right to Life and its president, Pam Fichter; and by the group Lawyers for Life.

“Missouri Roundtable For Life is gratified that Judge Green has upheld the rule of law and protected the taxpayers and citizens of Missouri from state officials implementing an unconstitutional law,” Sauer said in a news release.
