Jefferson City commercial wins top radio award

Bonnie Tapper of Cumulus Broadcasting in Jefferson City said it still feels like a dream after winning a 2011 Radio Mercury Award for best radio station-produced commercial in the country.

“The commercial was for Trapp and Associates Law Firm, and it was about how you feel when you go to jail after getting pulled over for drunk driving,” she said. “While it was a little funny, it was serious about what happens when you spend the night in jail.”

Tapper’s commercial was one of three finalists that made it to the national awards in New York City.
