Lady Jays close regular season with win

It was a nice little tune-up for the Jefferson City Lady Jays heading into district play.

Following losses to the No. 1 and No. 3 teams in Class 5, Jefferson City needed a little momentum before Tuesday’s district clash against Hickman. The Lady Jays got it in a 69-43 victory over Springfield Central on Thursday night at Fleming Fieldhouse.

“Especially coming off a two-game stretch where we played the top two ranked teams in the state (Rock Bridge and Incarnate Word), it’s nice to come back, get a little bit of forward momentum for us heading into next week,” Jefferson City coach Shane Meyer said. “Something to feel good about.”
