Hickman 51, California 49

COLUMBIA — California nearly pulled off the upset against a team two classes above it, falling 51-49 to Hickman on Thursday night.

California, a Class 3 school, led 13-11 after one quarter and 23-20 at halftime. Hickman, a Class 5 school, responded to take a 33-32 lead into the final period.
