Lincoln women qualify for MIAA playoffs with win over Missouri Western

It's official. The Lincoln women are going to the playoffs.

With a 68-56 victory Wednesday night over Missouri Western at Jason Gym, the Blue Tigers clinched a berth in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association postseason tournament.

The win pushes Lincoln to 8-9 in the conference with three league games remaining. Southwest Baptist, the ninth-place team (only the top eight teams qualify for the MIAA tournament), sits a 4-13 in the conference.

"We had a lot of team goals and one of them obviously was to make the conference tournament," Lincoln coach Katie Vaughn said. "And to do that with three games left, not having to wait for the last game or putting ourselves in bad situations, it's a great feeling."
