Judge upholds new Missouri House districts

Cole County Circuit Judge Patricia Joyce ruled Tuesday the state’s new House districts meet constitutional requirements.

A lawyer for the opponents said they filed their notice of appeal Tuesday afternoon.

“All parties appreciate Judge Joyce’s prompt ruling,” former Cole County Judge Paul Wilson, now a private-practice lawyer based in Columbia, said in an e-mail. “Plaintiffs have asked the Supreme Court to review the case and to expedite their consideration of these important issues.”
