DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Red Wings equaled an NHL record with their 20th straight win at home, beating the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 Sunday night on the strength of Johan Franzen's tiebreaking goal early in the third period.
The league mark was set by the Boston Bruins during the 1929-30 season and matched by Philadelphia in 1976. Detroit can break the record with a win Tuesday night over the Dallas Stars at Joe Louis Arena.
Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Kronwall also scored for the Red Wings.
Philadelphia rookie Brayden Schenn had a career-high two goals, helping the Flyers take the first of two leads they couldn't keep against a team that hasn't lost at home since Nov. 3 against Calgary.
Detroit goalie Joey MacDonald overcame shaky clearing attempts that led to two goals and finished with 26 saves. Jimmy Howard missed his fifth straight game with a broken right index finger.
Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom played in his 1,550th game, the most by an NHL player who spent his entire career with one team. He broke the mark set by former Detroit great Alex Delvecchio.
Maxime Talbot also scored for the Flyers and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 21 shots.
PENGUINS 4, LIGHTNING 2
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Evgeni Malkin continued his torrid play, scoring his 31st and 32nd goals of the season as Pittsburgh rallied past Tampa Bay.
Chris Kunitz and Kris Letang each added a goal and two assists for the Penguins, who have won six straight at home. James Neal chipped in three assists as Pittsburgh kept Tampa Bay star Steven Stamkos in check.
The NHL's leading goal scorer was held pointless and mustered just one shot against Brent Johnson, who overcame some early jitters to make 21 saves.
Steve Downie scored twice in an 11-second span in the first period for Tampa Bay, but the Penguins roared back from a two-goal deficit for the second time in two days behind Malkin.
The Russian star pushed his league-leading point total to 69 and narrowly missed a hat trick when his shot hit the post on an empty net as the clock expired. Malkin has scored in eight straight games at Consol Energy Center, the second-longest home-scoring streak in team history. Mario Lemieux scored in 13 straight home games in 1995-96.
RANGERS 3, CAPITALS 2
NEW YORK (AP) - Ryan Callahan scored for the fifth time in four days and defenseman Ryan McDonagh snapped a second-period tie to lift New York over Washington.
Callahan, who notched his second NHL hat trick Saturday with three goals in a 5-2 win at Philadelphia, got the Eastern Conference leaders going in the first period. McDonagh gave New York a 2-1 lead with 6:39 left in the second with his fifth of the season, and Brandon Prust snapped a 48-game drought with a short-handed tally in the third.
Henrik Lundqvist did the rest, making 24 saves to earn his second win in two days and setting up New York for a showdown with the Stanley Cup champion Bruins on Tuesday at Boston.
The Rangers (36-13-5) have won three straight, four of five and six of eight (6-1-1). They are 19-5-1 in their past 25 games and 33-10-3 since starting the season 3-3-2.
Alexander Semin scored, defenseman John Carlson had a goal and assist, and Michal Neuvirth stopped 25 shots for the Capitals, who have lost four of six (2-3-1) and sit ninth in the East playoff race.
BLUES 3, SHARKS 0
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Alex Pietrangelo had two goals, David Perron also scored with a two-man advantage and Andy McDonald added an assist in his return from a concussion that sidelined him for 51 games, sending St. Louis to a victory over San Jose.
Jaroslav Halak earned his sixth shutout in just 10 starts, one more than All-Star teammate Brian Elliott has, as the Blues extended a franchise record by earning at least one point in 19 consecutive home games. They're 16-0-3 at home since a 5-2 loss to Chicago on Dec. 3 and an NHL-best 24-3-4 overall, topping their total of 23 wins last season.
Antti Niemi made 25 saves for the Pacific Division-leading Sharks, who came up empty in the opener of a season-long, nine-game trip. San Jose, which next plays at home Feb. 28 against the Flyers, has lost three of four overall.
The Sharks were 0 for 4 on the power play after going 7 for 14 in the previous four games.
KINGS 4, STARS 2
DALLAS (AP) - Jordan Nolan and Dwight King each scored their first career goal and Los Angeles beat Dallas in a matchup of Western Conference playoff contenders.
With the game tied at 2, Nolan skated hard to the net and fired Mike Richards' centering pass by Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen at 11:29 of the third period.
Nolan and King were both called up from Manchester of the AHL on Friday. Nolan was playing in his second NHL game, King his eighth.
Jonathan Quick stopped 26 shots, Andrei Loktionov had a power-play goal and Anze Kopitar added two assists for the Kings, who completed a 2-3-1 road trip.
Justin Williams added an empty-netter with 2.1 seconds left for Los Angeles.
Loui Eriksson and Michael Ryder scored for the Stars.
DUCKS 5, BLUE JACKETS 3
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Corey Perry scored three goals for his fifth career hat trick - and second against Columbus this season - to lead Anaheim.
Bobby Ryan had a goal and an assist and Ryan Getzlaf added three assists for the Ducks. Jason Blake also scored for Anaheim, which was playing the second game of a season-long, eight-game road trip.
The 41-year-old Teemu Selanne, who leads Anaheim in points in his 20th season, picked up an assist to tie Brett Hull for 21st on the NHL's career list with 1,391 points.
Jonas Hiller made 24 saves in his 14th straight start.
Fedor Tyutin had a goal and an assist, and Aaron Johnson and Antoine Vermette also scored for the last-place Blue Jackets, who had won three of four but were mostly sloppy in the second of back-to-back games.
PANTHERS 4, ISLANDERS 1
UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - Kris Versteeg, Tomas Fleischmann, Tyson Strachan and Jack Skille scored to lift Florida over New York.
Jose Theodore made 26 saves in his first appearance since Jan. 20 after sustaining a knee injury. Fleischmann and Versteeg each finished with two points.
Frans Nielsen scored for the Islanders on the team's first shot at 3:35 of the first.
The Panthers swept a set of back-to-back games for the first time in nine attempts this season after defeating New Jersey on the road Saturday. Florida remained in sole possession of first place in the Southeast Division - and third place in the conference with 65 points.
