Hunter Neighbors and Jared Johnson had differing plans heading into their title matches.
Differing plans can get you to the same spot. The Jefferson City teammates made their last matches in Fleming Fieldhouse count as they won Class 4 District 3 Tournament individual titles Saturday night.
Neighbors, a senior, defeated Jason Kiehne of Rock Bridge 7-4 for the title at 120 pounds in a battle of the top two seeds.
If Neighbors wanted to keep his opponent at bay, Johnson’s strategy was a little more simple —pin and get off the mat.
