"Should I stay or should I go?"
It was none other than the modern "philosophers" The Clash who posed that question way back in 1981, but it was a conundrum that came to my mind last week when two news stories surfaced that concerned the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
The NCAA Division II conference made up of teams from Missouri and Kansas got some attention last Monday when reports came out Truman State University, a founding member of the league from way back in 1912, was considering a move to the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
As a Truman alum, I was especially interested in a departure that would end a century-long affiliation. But notice I didn't say I was surprised, as there have been rumors for years about such a move, and this is still far from a done deal.
