Heckman joins MU Hall of Fame

Helias graduate honored for his baseball feats

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Helias graduate Tom Heckman racked up a long list of honors and awards during his time as a pitcher for the Missouri baseball team from 1978-81.

But more than 30 years after leaving the University of Missouri, Heckman received one of the highest honors a Missouri athlete can achieve.

Heckman was one of six former Tiger athletes inducted into the University of Missouri Hall of Fame this weekend. The group was honored at a dinner Friday night and was recognized during halftime of Missouri’s basketball game against Baylor on Saturday at Mizzou Arena.
