Man charged for calling 911, reporting officer down

A Jefferson City man was being held Thursday afternoon in the Cole County Jail after fighting with another man earlier in the day and calling 911 to falsely report a police officer was “down.”

According to court documents, Anthony Major, 43, of 5503 Old Lohman Road, was charged with second-degree domestic assault, misuse of 911 and making a false report for claiming an officer had been injured.
