Blair Oaks aiming for district wrestling title

WARDSVILLE, Mo. — While a district wrestling tournament holds the key for what can happen at the state tournament, it’s not like winning a district title is meaningless.

Just ask the Blair Oaks Falcons.

When the Falcons start the two-day Class 1 District 2 Tournament at Knob Noster today, they’ll be looking to do something they’ve never done before.

“Our goal is to go win the district,” Blair Oaks coach Tim Karsten said. “We had a good elimination round last year and got 10 (wrestlers) in, but the following round we didn’t wrestle quite as good and let the district title slip away from us.
