Your Opinion: Participating ends complaining

Dear Editor:

While I live in the county, I work and spend most of my time in Jefferson City. I've participated in the process the last 18 months for one reason; I thought I owed it to my community. I thought I needed to give back to the community that has given me so much. Like most, I've complained in the past about the relationship between the city and our university.

I've complained about the fact that I feel the need to leave Jefferson City to find things to do. And I've complained about our community's reliance on state government for economic stability. I'm done complaining.

Transform Jefferson City is about taking action. I'm ready to do my part, invest in my community. It's about taking control of our community's future. Investing our money in our community not is someone else's. Every day we waste complaining about what we aren't as a community is another day lost in becoming what we want to be.

I look forward to a Transformed Jefferson City and it starts with your vote for Transformation Feb. 7.
