There's no reason for MU-KU basketball series to go away

As the saying goes, all good things must end someday ... except for the Missouri-Kansas basketball game.

Certainly whoever came up with the clichéd saying had to think the Border-War basketball game was an exception, right?

But when the lights went out Saturday night in Mizzou Arena, I hope you got a good look at the crimson and blue. They may never be back.

While the end of the rivalry isn't the end of the world (although some might try to say otherwise), it is, at the very least, a big chunk of history being swallowed up.

Many people who grew up in the Midwest are ingrained in the rivalry from birth, especially those living in the Kansas City area.

It will be hard to forget the battles between legendary coaches Norm Stewart and Roy Williams. Or the two times Kansas and Missouri met as top-5 teams in 1990. Or in 2006 when ....
