Clerk: Tax to attract voters
Turnout above 30 percent expected
Sunday, February 5, 2012
Voter turnout for Tuesday’s election could be above 30 percent, but the Cole County clerk is not making any predictions.
Tuesday’s ballot will present one city ward issue, the Transformation sales tax and the presidential primary choices. Cole County Clerk Marvin Register said because there are no county issues, he’s not sure how many will come out to vote.
“People will come out in the city because of the Transformation tax, not the primary,” Register said.
