Jefferson City man charged with statutory rape

A Jefferson City man is charged with one count of first-degree statutory rape after being accused of having sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 17.

Court documents show Derand Schubert, 32, 304 E. Ashley, is believed to have committed the crime in June 2011.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows the victim told her mother that the sexual contact with Schubert had actually been going on since 2008.
