Voters will notice a new feature when they go to the polls Tuesday, said Cole County Clerk Marvin Register.
When voters check in at their polling place, they’ll be verifying their identification on an electronic pad.
“It’s like a credit card signature,” Register said. “You register like normal, we scan your driver’s license or voter registration card and that verifies your address. Then you sign the pad.”
Register said there’s no more initialing to verify that your address is correct with this system.
“It will be quicker and lines in polling planes should be shortened,” he said.
