Blue Tigers fighting for their playoff lives

The Lincoln women's basketball team is suddenly in a battle to save its playoff life.

The Blue Tigers, who started Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play with a 4-1 record, have dropped six of their last seven league games.

Now Lincoln finds itself in seventh place at 5-7 in the conference, while eighth-place Southwest Baptist (4-9) and ninth-place Missouri Western (4-10) aren't far behind.

The top eight teams in the 11-team league qualify for the MIAA Tournament. Lincoln can do a lot for its postseason chances when it hosts Missouri Southern (2-11 MIAA) at 5:30 p.m. today at Jason Gym.
