The last time the Helias Lady Crusaders played at Rackers Fieldhouse, they survived poor free-throw shooting to eke out a victory.
On Thursday, their performance at the stripe made things a lot easier.
“We decided we were going to get better at it, every player has taken it upon themselves to get better from the line,” Helias coach Doug Light said after the Lady Crusaders defeated the Louisville (Ky.) Male Lady Bulldogs 49-43 in the opening round of the State Farm Holiday Hoops Invitational at Rackers Fieldhouse.
“We’ve put pressure on them in practice to get better and they’ve accepted it and done a good job. It’s been a big help.”
