Pay increases planned in 2013 Callaway County budget

Pay raises ranging from $300 to $700 per employee are likely to be granted to Callaway County employees next year, Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann said Wednesday.

The county’s anticipated 2013 general revenue is estimated at $7,436,425. It plans to spend $7,583,315 next year. To balance the budget, the county will use $146,890 from its reserve fund.

Jungermann said the county will budget an average pay hike of about $500 for each county employee but supervisors of each county office or department will apportion the pay raises based on merit.

I lived in Callaway for 15 years. Its the worst place we have EVER lived. You sure don't get what you pay for. The laws are antiquated, the Sheriff's Dept. does the best they can but sure could do better. No planning and zoning, so there are junk cars everywhere. Great place to live (NOT). Oh and lets not forget the gun shooting that goes on in county subdivisions. The place is a joke and we glad we are gone. Its a good old boy system and will always be that. I will be reluctanlty paying my taxes to the place there on Saturday and hopefully that will be the last they get from me.
