Tuesday, December 25, 2012
St. Peter Interparish School has selected William “Bill” Feind as the 2013 Distinguished Alumni recipient. Feind is from Our Lady of the Snows parish in Mary’s Home.
Feind graduated from St. Peter High School and attended the University of Missouri on a football scholarship.
He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Marine Crops and served two terms in Vietnam. He graduated from parachute jump school in Okinawa, Japan, and was chosen “Man of His Class.” Feind also served as commanding officer at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Following his military service, Feind and his wife returned to Mid-Missouri. Over the years, he has served on the parish council, the school board, as a Eucharistic minister and as a lector.
“From the time Bill was a youth, he has known that God is always with him in every aspect of his life,” said Joseph Gulino, principal at St. Peter Interparish School.
Feind will be honored at St. Peter Church on Feb. 2.
