Christmas holiday closings scheduled

Because of Tuesday's Christmas Day holiday, all federal, state, county and municipal offices in Jefferson City will be closed, except for law enforcement and emergency services.

The State Archives, 600 W. Main St., also will be closed Tuesday.

The U.S. Postal Service will close at noon Monday and be closed all day Tuesday, resuming normal hours Wednesday. The last pickup at the downtown post office, 131 W. High St., will be 2 p.m. Monday. The last pickup at the Capital View station, 1750 Jefferson St., will be at 5 p.m. Monday.

Jefftran buses won't run Tuesday.

The Missouri River, Daniel Boone and Heartland Regional libraries all will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

Lincoln University will be closed through Jan. 1, and will reopen on Jan. 2.

Because the holiday is Tuesday, trash and recycling pickups the rest of the week in Jefferson City will be pushed back one day (Tuesday to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday, etc.).

The News Tribune will not publish a Tuesday newspaper, and the business office will close at 3 p.m. Monday. Publication and normal business hours will resume on Wednesday morning. NewsTribune.com will be updated as warranted.
