Big second half sends Hermann past Fatima

The Fatima Lady Comets led the Class 3 top-ranked Hermann Lady Bearcats by three points at halftime.

It probably should have been more, the Lady Comets had played that well in the opening two quarters of their Missouri National Guard Shootout contest Saturday at Fleming Fieldhouse.

Then came the second half.

“To beat a team like Hermann, you have to play a full 32 minutes and we didn’t,” Fatima coach Dustin Hays said after the Lady Comets fell 54-42 to the Lady Bearcats. “We played 16. We lost the momentum and we couldn’t get it back.”
