Two more men arrested in Eldon kidnapping case

Two more men were arrested this week in connection with the kidnapping of an Eldon man earlier this month.

Mark E. Bond, 43, of Eldon, was arrested Wednesday and charged with kidnapping, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action, all felonies.

The Missouri Highway Patrol also arrested James M. Stone, 31, Eldon, on Thursday afternoon, on a Miller County warrant for the same felony charges. But, as of Friday evening, prosecutors had not filed formal charges, according to postings on Case.net, the state courts' online reporting system.

A probable cause statement prepared by the patrol, and filed Thursday with the charges against Bond, said Anthony D. Lively, Eldon, met with Trooper N.R. Atkinson on Dec. 14 and reported he'd been kidnapped by Stone and Christopher Whittle on Dec. 11.
